When will we go back?

Has there ever been a situation in your life where you think, "What in the world just happened there"? Have you ever thought, man, grumble, whine, complain, oh wait, there is good that can come out of this situation; God did have this situation under control. That is where we are - of course without the grumble, whine complain. haha. We anticipated returning as soon as ABWE would allow - hoping it would be October 1; we were ready to buy our plane tickets.

God in His awesome sovereignty has changed our plans, our hearts. We will be here until January which will allow Ben and Julia to complete the semester. It will give us time to make sure Andy and Gabe get settled in college. We can meet with our ministry partners. Time here allows us to strengthen our marriage, our family, and our ministry. God has blessed us extravagantly and we are staying in a fully furnished apartment while we complete our year here. We are deeply thankful for the many blessings He is giving us!! Thank you so much for supporting us during this time! Thank you for your love, prayers, and encouragement!! We appreciate you!!

What is going on at the center?

The ministry center has been almost empty for three months. Normally it's busy every day - for camp, pastoral training, retreats, baptisms, etc. It is the hub of our ministry in Nicaragua. As the country is suffering from the violence and demonstrations, the ministry center is suffering as well. The center is dependent on groups who use it to support itself. Our national pastors cannot be trained which is even more vital then ever during this difficult time. Our camps cannot operate which means kids who need Christ more then ever, are not hearing the gospel. Our workers are losing their jobs and they cannot find new ones which means their families suffer.
Mark will be making a trip to Nicaragua in late August to assess the situation and meet with our national partners. Please pray that our national partners and their families would be strengthened and encouraged. Please pray that God will provide the funds necessary for the center to operate. If money does not come in from you, our supporters, there is a potential that the center will have to shut down. Please pray with us!! If you would like to give towards keeping the center open; here is the link: https://www.abwe.org/work/projects/nicaragua-ministry-center-crisis. Thank you for giving towards training pastors, reaching kids, and showing the love of Christ to our workers.
The center was busy almost every day. Now it is vacant almost every day.
