Month of Firsts

When you are in your first year of a new adventure, you are bound to have a lot of "firsts".  Mark crammed several into the month of October.

  • First time translating - Mark translated for a children's program at El Camino. It was unexpected and the crazy part was the speaker was a ventriloquist!  How many people can say that their first translation experience was for a ventriloquist?
  • First time preaching in Spanish - Mark preached from Ephesians 1 at Iglesia Bautista Ebenezer.  He had to read a lot of the sermon but it went well.
  • First time teaching at the Institute of Church Planters.  Mark taught a session for the pastors.
In October we began helping at a feeding center in a barrio of Cuidad Sandino.  Currently the feeding center is located in someone's home.  Three days a week 80-100 children are fed spiritually and physically.  The plan is to grow the feeding center into a new church.

We praise God for these many opportunities to serve and learn!

ABWE Regional Conference - we enjoyed time of learning, relaxation, and spending time with ABWE colleagues.

Serving the food - usually 80-100 kids.  They hear a Bible story, eat a meal, and get a hug.

These are our helpers.  When we teach at Stilecroft school these three young ladies carry our supplies from our first class to the second.
