Visit from our home church

We were blessed and encouraged to have a team from our home church, Washington Heights Baptist, come to visit us.

They came for the purpose of seeing the work being done here and explore possibilities of partnership in the work.  The church has many ties to the work here through us and our teammates Bruce and Laura Edgar as well as to Larry and Bev Smith who were the first ABWE missionaries to live in Nicaragua. The group toured the ministry center, attended a little bit of the church planting classes, travelled to several church plants, and met several of the pastors we work with.  We are grateful for our time with our friends and excited about working together in the future!

Recent ministry
  • We continue to teach and play with the kids at El Camino each week.  The attendance has increased from 20-30 or so to 50-60.  Last week we had 89!  These kids love to come and sing fun songs about God, hear a Bible story, play games, and make crafts.  The room is crowded, crazy, loud and hot but the smiles and laughter are great to see.  We praise God that so many kids are coming to hear God's Word.
  • We began a new ministry at a local bilingual Christian school, Stilecroft.  Along with teammates we are teaching the Bible classes each Tuesday for all grades.  Even though it is a Christian school there are many kids who are unsaved and have little knowledge of the Bible. We are teaching the Story of Hope for kids!
  • We are planning a special event with our teammates at one of the church plants on September 28th.  There will be separate teaching sessions for men, women, youth, and kids.  Please pray that this event will draw people to the church and those who do not know Christ will accept Him.
Another round of classes with the church planters.  These pastors will graduate in November.
We visited a couple of the church plants - one in the mountains and the other at the ocean
Please pray for our kids.  They started their first full year of school at Nicaragua Christian Academy.
