People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them. Mark 10:13-16

Why target children?

1.   Jesus valued children  (Mark 10:13-14)

2.   Children are everywhere – There are 1.8 billion children in the world under the age of 15 (almost 30% of the world’s population).  In many developing countries, where we find the greatest population of unreached people, kids are at least 50% of the population.   This is true in Nicaragua as well – almost 50% of the population is under the age of 15.

3.   Nica children are needy and poor.

4.   Kids are reachable.  They have time to listen, the availability, and the interest.  They can make a decision to follow Christ at an early age.

5.   Children are teachable - time to listen, not too busy, don't have to unlearn as much

6.   Children have potential - they can serve and learn from an early age.

7.   Children have great potential to reach more kids and adults.  Children can learn to share the gospel with their friends.

8.   Children are connected to families

9.   Children are the next generation - the leaders of tomorrow, we are one generation away (Ps 78).

10. Children are believers
